Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)
The value of an AMC is not only the maintenance. It is that the asset acquires a documented service history — which matters when equipment is under warranty, when a system fails and the cause is disputed, and when the facility is eventually valued or transferred.
In short
An annual maintenance contract (AMC) is a fixed-term agreement covering scheduled maintenance of defined assets, usually for a fixed fee with agreed response times for reactive callouts. It converts unpredictable repair spending into a budgeted cost and gives the asset a maintenance history.

Common questions
What is usually excluded from an AMC?
Typically major component replacement, consumables beyond an agreed allowance, damage from misuse, and works arising from pre-existing defects identified at survey. Any provider's exclusions list is worth reading closely — it is where AMCs differ most and where disputes originate.
Can an AMC cover more than one site?
Yes. Multi-site AMCs are common and generally price better than separate contracts, provided the asset base is surveyed properly at each location rather than assumed to be equivalent.
