Common questions
What happens if the Commercial Registration is not confirmed?
Under the Commercial Register Law, which replaced renewal with an annual confirmation, a registration not confirmed within ninety days of falling due is suspended, after a warning fourteen days ahead — and the suspension also suspends every licence issued under that registration. It runs for one year and is lifted by filing the confirmation and paying the fee plus a fine; if that is not done, the registration is struck off, or, for a company or a foreign company's branch, the Ministry of Commerce may require the company's owners to dissolve it or ask the competent court to dissolve it. Because so much sits downstream of the CR, a suspended registration tends to stop several things at once.
We have branches in more than one city. Do they need separate licences?
Generally yes — premises-level licences such as Baladiya and Civil Defense attach to the location, and branch registrations sit under the main CR. This is exactly where a central register earns its place, because the dates rarely align.
